My name is Micheline Pitre and I attended Holy Family School in the years 1981-1982 and 1982-1983. Back then, I was in kindergarten and grade 1, and I moved away before I started grade 2. I remember that in kindergarten, we were only 5 students: me, Cathy Berube, Melanie Bedard, Sylvie Casonie and Arita, and the teacher was Mrs Scamel. I was wondering if any of these people had written to your website lately or if you know where they are, or even if the teacher Mrs McMillan (Joan) has written to your website. It would be nice to hear from them after all this time. Right now, I don't have any "old" pictures to send, but here's a picture of me taken on November 16th, 2003 (in Iceland).

I don't remember much from Chibougamau, I lived there from 1979 to 1983 (ages 3 to 7). I lived in the part of the town which was only for the families of military employees... and apparently, that part doesn't exist anymore. I guess the school is what I remember the most (with an obviously small kindergarten group, and a grade 1 class shared with a grade 2 class).

Since I've moved from Chibougamau, I've been living in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, where I continued my education in an English school (until grade 6, after which I went to a French school). My father no longer being in the army, we haven't moved since then.

Seeing some people from Chibougamau after so many years sure would be interesting, or at least to hear from them would be nice

Here are a few more names I remember, apart from the ones already mentioned: Nanette (Arita's sister), Vicky Duquette, Rick Jordan, Steeve Cormier, Stephane Descourcis (they were all in my grade 1-2 class), and the teacher Joan McMillan. Oh, and I do remember one more thing about Mrs Scamel: When I finished kindergarten, she said she was moving to Montreal. I haven't heard of anyone since then...

It's only recently I thought about searching for a website about Holy Family School, and I'm glad I found it. I personally think it's amazing to see how people have scattered everywhere after leaving Chibougamau, I might even move to Iceland in a near future. For now, I live in St-Jean and work in Chambly, as an industrial designer. I'll keep in touch and I'll regularly check the website to see if any students have posted new messages.
